As summit host Hilde Oerlemann, a German actress played by Cate Blanchett, describes the decomposing corpse, the G7 leaders in attendance can only wince and look with disgust, with one world leader describing it as “terrifying.” After the ceremony, representatives of the world’s richest democracies are stranded in the woods, pursued by ancient corpses in a conference gone horribly wrong.
in Rumors As part of a series of TV shows featuring seven leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States, it’s Germany’s turn to host the G7 summit to formulate a statement on a vaguely described “global crisis.” The political satire is directed by Ian Johnson, Galen Johnson and Jay Madden, and the cast includes Rolando Ravelo, Charles Dance, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Roy Dubois, Denis Ménochet, Takehiro Hira, Zlatko Boric and Alicia Vikander.
During the film's premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May, Galen Johnson noted that the film was inspired by Fleetwood Mac's album of the same name. He added that the filmmakers looked at “a list of the 10 best album titles.” Rumors “We were there and liked the name.”
“Rumors “The album was full of creativity and everyone was sleeping together, so it made sense to us,” Galen Johnson continued. “Nobody questioned it. We thought people, producers, financiers would be like, ‘Why? Rumors“But no one ever questioned it, so it just became a title.”
