James Fauntleroy Sells Publishing Assets to HarbourView Equity


Harborview Equity Partners (Harborview) Buy the publishing catalog of the Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer. James Fauntleroy.

Fauntleroy has collaborated with global artists including Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Drake, Mariah Carey, and many more. Only a select number of Fauntleroy’s works as a songwriter have been acquired, while full terms of the deal have not been disclosed. He most recently co-wrote Lady Gaga and Mars’ newly released single, “Die with a Smile.”

In 2018, Fauntleroy won both Song of the Year and R&B Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards for his contributions to Mars’ “That’s What I Like.” Following a rule change by the Recording Academy, Fauntleroy also made history as the first songwriter ever to win a Grammy for “Album of the Year” for co-writing eight of the nine tracks on Mars’ “24K Magic.” In addition to his work as a songwriter and producer, Fauntleroy co-founded 1500 Sound Academy — a music school based in his hometown of Inglewood that seeks to “produce young artists, songwriters and producers with mentorship, a positive mindset and professional development,” according to a press release.

Reporting to Daniel Lieberberg, President, Sony Music Continental Europe and Africa, Bheem will be based in Berlin to oversee strategy and operations for the GSA region. He most recently served as Senior Vice President, Commercial, GSA.
