Jared Padalecki has been cast in the upcoming third season of CBS's “Fire Country,” diverse And he confirmed.
Padalecki will appear in three episodes in a recurring role. He will play Camden, described as “a Southern California firefighter and rebel with surfing guts who is a force to be reckoned with and who immediately recognizes Bud's (Max Thieriot) raw talent.”
The role keeps Padalecki working with CBS Studios, which produces “Fire Country.” Padalecki most recently starred in the studio's series “Walker,” which aired for four seasons on The CW with Padalecki as the showrunner and executive producer. He also served as an executive producer on the prequel series “Walker: Independence,” which aired for one season.
Padalecki is, of course, best known for his starring role on The CW/The WB's long-running series “Supernatural.” The series ran for 15 seasons, with Padalecki helming the show alongside Jensen Ackles. There has been some talk of Padalecki and Ackles reuniting with “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke on the Amazon series “The Boys,” with Kripke serving as executive producer and Ackles appearing as Soldier Boy.
He represents UTA, Industry Entertainment, and Fuller Law.
“Fire Country” debuted on CBS in 2022 and quickly became one of the network’s most-watched shows. One spinoff, “Sheriff Country,” starring Morena Baccarin, has already been released. Given Padalecki’s relationship with the studio, it’s possible that his story could be used in Season 3 to create its own spinoff, but no deal has been reached at this time. CBS and CBS Studios declined to comment on the possibility of another spinoff.
“Fire Country” returns for its third season on October 18. Theriot leads the cast of “Fire Country,” which also stars Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcilla, Jordan Calloway and Jules Latimer. Theriot co-created the series with Tony Phelan and Joanne Rutter. The three serve as executive producers alongside producer Tia Napolitano as well as Jerry Bruckheimer and Christian Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
Deadline was the first to report Padalecki's casting.
