Want some Christmas carols from one of the greatest voices in music? Sign up! Jennifer Hudson announced Friday that she will release her first Christmas album, gift of loveOn October 18th.
The project will feature Christmas classics such as “O Holy Night,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Little Drummer Boy” and “Jingle Bells.” It will also feature “Carol of the Bells” alongside South African band Joy and Common on “Almost Christmas.”
“I can't wait to make it yours!” Hudson wrote on Instagram, accompanying a video of herself putting up ornaments on the Christmas tree alongside a clip of her performing “Jingle Bells” on the piano.
OneRepublic executive Ryan Tedder is producing the project, while Kirk Franklin, David Foster and Per Astrom join as producers. The album will feature a collection of original songs written in collaboration with the likes of Michael Pollack and J. Cash.
“We dreamed of collaborating,” Joy wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo with Hudson in the studio. “Literally Christmas came early this year, @iamjhud invited us to be a part of her magical holiday album.
