Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have announced their divorce after more than two years of marriage. Lopez filed for divorce on Tuesday, August 20, in Los Angeles County Superior Court. diverse Confirms. The official breakup date is listed as April 26th.

Lopez, 54, and Affleck, 51, married in Las Vegas in July 2022 after rekindling their two-decade relationship, which was dubbed “Bennifer” by tabloid publications at the time and was the focus of their coverage in the early 2000s.

The couple tied the knot again in a lavish ceremony in Georgia on August 20, 2022, exactly two years ago.

Lopez and Affleck made two films together: Martin Brest's 2003 erotic romance Gigli and Kevin Smith's 2004 comedy Jersey Girl. By the time the latter film hit theaters, Lopez and Affleck had called off their engagement and gone their separate ways.

The two married and split in the years between—Lopez married Marc Anthony, and Affleck was linked to Jennifer Garner. The two then began a public relationship again about three years ago. Lopez has provided frequent updates on her engagement and eventual marriage to her fans through her social media presence and her newsletter.

Lopez also addressed the relationship openly on her latest album, “This Is Me… Now,” a follow-up to her 2002 album, “This Is Me… Then,” which also discussed her then-relationship with Affleck. Affleck appears in Lopez’s “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” a 65-minute, celebrity-studded fantasy film centered around music from the new album. The film was released on Prime Video in February and features Affleck in prosthetic makeup playing a tired but jaded news anchor.

During their second relationship and marriage, Affleck and Lopez have been regulars on the promotional circuit for each other's projects, walking the red carpet together for “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” “The Mother,” “Air,” “The Last Duel” and “Marry Me.” The duo attended the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year.

In May, Lopez canceled her summer “This Is Me… Now” tour, with a statement reading: “Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.”
