Pachinko is an international historical epic that explores four generations of a Korean family, from 1915 to 1989. The main story begins in 1931, when Soonja leaves her family in Korea under Japanese rule, moves to the Koreatown neighborhood of Osaka, Japan, and begins a new life there.
