Latest version of Joker: Madness in Duo The trailer for Todd Phillips’ 2019 blockbuster has fans buzzing. And with the film set to premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival later in August, festival president Alberto Barbera is adding to the buzz, calling Phillips’ sequel one of his biggest hits. “Bold Films in Modern American Cinema.” Starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, Joker: Madness in Duo It is scheduled to launch here in the US on October 4, 2024.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Barbera sat down to discuss the upcoming festival and what people can expect from some of their shows this year, which — in addition to Joker: Madness in Duo – We will see the world premiere of Beetlejuice BeetlejuiceDaniel Craig's historical romance, gay; A24 baby girl; And the incomparable Tilda Swinton The next room. The festival president went further when he brought up the subject of the film being a musical, saying: Yes, it is, but contrary to what people may be used to from this genre, this film is a musical. “Dystopian music.” At the time, he gave the film some of the highest praise he could:
It's a dystopian musical, or a musical genre. I think it's one of the most daring, courageous, and creative films in modern American cinema. And I think it really confirms that Todd Phillips is one of the most creative directors working today.
