Justin Timberlake Expected to Plead Guilty in DWI Case

Justin Timberlake is expected to plead guilty in Sag Harbor, New York, on Friday in connection with his arrest on a drunken driving charge in June, according to local reports.

Timberlake, 43, was charged with driving under the influence after police stopped him for swerving and failing to stop signs. The arresting officer reported that his eyes were “bloody” and “glassy,” and that he did not perform well on a field sobriety test. Timberlake refused to submit to a breath test.

Timberlake's lawyer had previously denied that his client was drunk.

“The most important fact to know about this case is that Justin was not drunk and should not have been arrested for driving under the influence,” his attorney, Ed Burke, said in July.

Burke has not commented on the plea agreement, which was first reported by TMZ and confirmed by Newsday, citing “sources familiar with the details of the case.”

Timberlake is expected to appear in person before Judge Carl Iras to enter his guilty plea.

The singer reportedly told police he was following friends home after drinking a single martini.

Timberlake just wrapped up his European tour with concerts in Hamburg, Germany, and Lyon, France.
