Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign Release New Single ‘Slide’

Hope may not be all lost for a Vultures 2 album. Tonight, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign released their new song “Slide” on yeezy.com, suggesting that the sequel to their February collaboration may be coming sooner than fans think.

There has been a lot of talk about “Vultures 2” this week, especially after West’s website announced that the album would finally be available to the public today. But after fans and media took notice, the release date was quickly removed from the site, leading the internet to speculate that the waiting game will continue.

Until now, of course, with the release of “Slide.” The organ-driven track was first performed in September 2023 during a listening session for West and Ty at Le Baroque in Geneva, Switzerland, and was then played by Fred Again… at his shows at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles two months later. “This is crazy to me, I made this with my brother Ty a few months ago,” Fred said at the time.

The song was performed again in December 2023 at the Vultures Rave in Miami, and a few months later the tracklist on North West's T-shirt indicated that James Blake was on the song. It's unclear who made the final version of the song, as a simple stream appears on yeezy.com.

It’s been a long road to “Vultures 2,” as West first announced it would be the second in a trilogy of albums back in January. “Vultures 1” was released on February 10, while the second part was originally scheduled for March 8. That came and went, and after much social media teasing, a May 3 release was teased. But that came and went, too, and the subsequent scheduling and cancellation of listening events around the world has thrown a wrench in any optimism that “Vultures 2” would see the light of day. Currently, the album still doesn’t have a release date.
