Keshet International has outlined its MIPCOM lineup, with highlights including thriller “Too Much Love,” documentary series “SAS: Catching the Criminals” and romantic comedy “Save the Date.”
“Too Much Love” (“The Man Who Loves Me”) from Slovakian company Piknik Pictures is an eight-episode thriller with a twist inspired by the Canadian Duo Productions format. It tells the story of a man whose two wives meet for the first time after he is hospitalized following a car accident. The series is set to premiere in Slovakia in September on the free-to-air channel TV JOJ.
The reality series “SAS: Catching the Criminals” is a 10-part series (both script and tape) produced by Double Act, about a former SAS commander who works alongside British law enforcement agencies to deploy covert intelligence, surveillance and disruption tactics against criminals. It is expected to air on the BBC in the UK this fall.
“Save the date” which diverse A romantic comedy starring Tomer Kabon and Adi Havshush was exclusively revealed Wednesday, with Havshush playing a heartbroken wedding planner who finds herself facing multiple suitors after an ancient love spell goes wrong. The film will premiere in Israel on September 2.
Other drama titles available on Keshet International include the multilingual series “Project Valhalla,” created by Jari Olavi Rantala and starring Sarah Soulier (“Conflict”) and Alistair Brammer (“Les Misérables”), and the seven-episode crime drama “The 11th Body” (formerly “Palo Alto”) from Artza Productions, featuring Maggie Azarzar (“Sirens”) as a police detective navigating a gang war and buried family secrets after a body is discovered. Both shows have been picked up for drama on MIPCOM.
KI is also selling “Rough Diamonds,” an eight-part drama set in Antwerp’s famed diamond district, co-produced by De Mensen and KI for Netflix and VRT, and “Echo 3,” starring Jessica Anne Collins as a kidnapped scientist with Luke Evans and Michiel Huisman plotting to bring her home. It is produced by Keshet Studios for Apple TV+. Meanwhile, “Conflict,” a six-part multilingual political thriller produced by Backmann & Hoderhoff and XYZ Films, is in development.
KI’s nonfiction slate includes Woodcut Media’s 10-part crime documentary series “Catch Me If You Can,” Perpetual Entertainment’s “Hitler’s Treasure Hunters” — a six-part series about the Nazis’ theft of historical artifacts — and SandStone Global’s “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World,” a six-part series on ancient history hosted by Professor Bettany Hughes.
Other unscripted titles include “The World’s Most Evil Killers” (Woodcat Media), “Truck Hell” Season 8 (Cracket Productions), and the International Emmy Award-nominated “Dear Neighbors,” about parents in rural towns trying to find a local love partner for their aspiring son or daughter.
“We are delighted to complete our most popular drama slate to date with a completely different relationship drama – the uplifting romantic comedy ‘Save The Date’ and the European thriller ‘Too Much Love’,” said Kelly Wright, KI’s Director of Distribution. “They join crime drama ‘The 11th Body’ and mystery thriller ‘Valhalla Project’, both MIP Drama shortlisted titles, along with two KI thrillers, ‘Rough Diamonds’ and ‘Echo 3’.”
“This is a first for us – our factual slate will now include two shows that have been greenlit for production and distribution,” Wright added. “We are proud to launch Catch Me If You Can and Hitler’s Treasure Hunters alongside SAS: Catching the Criminals on BBC One with former SAS legend Billy Bellingham.”
The production and distribution company returns to Cannes with its largest delegation since 2019, including sales coordinator Kate Orlowski, who will be based in Riviera 7 at the Palais des Festivals.
