‘Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Adds 7 to ‘Game of Thrones’ Spinoff

Westeros is getting some new faces.

The Game of Thrones spin-off series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” has added seven new cast members.

The HBO series has cast Edward Ashley (“Masters of the Air”) as Ser Stefon Fossoway, Henry Ashton (“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” “My Lady Jane”) as Daeron Targaryen, Yousef Kerkour (“House of Gucci”) as Steely Bat, Daniel Monks (the upcoming Netflix film “Kaos”) as Ser Manfred Dondarrion, Sean Thomas (“How to Have Sex”) as Raymond Fossoway, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (“Avengers: Infinity War”) as Plummer, and Danny Webb (“The Regime,” “The Dig”) as Ser Arlan of Penytree. For fans who recently finished season two of “House of the Dragon,” the Daeron in “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is different from the one in the prequel series — just as there have been many Aegons in Westeros’ history.

The series stars Peter Claffey as Sir Duncan Tall and Dexter Saul Ansell as his assistant Egg. The series, which is set to premiere next year, is set 100 years before the events of the main “Game of Thrones” and 100 years after the events of the prequel “House of the Dragon.”

The story line reads: “A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a naive but brave young knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his young lieutenant, Aeg. In an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the last dragon has not yet faded from living memory, great destinies, powerful enemies, and dangerous adventures await these unlikely and incomparable friends.”

The cast also includes Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen, Bertie Carvel as Baelor Targaryen, Tanzin Crawford as Tansil, Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon, and Sam Spruill as Maekar Targaryen. The series is based on George R. R. Martin's short story series Knight of the Wall (1998), The Sworn Sword (2003), and Knight of Mystery (2010).

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was created and produced by Martin and Ira Park, who also serves as executive producer. Ryan Condal, Vince Gerardis, Sarah Bradshaw and Owen Harris also serve as executive producers.
