Know Your Place is a real-life drama set in present-day Seattle, Washington. Robel Haile, a 15-year-old Eritrean-American boy, embarks on a mission to deliver a large, heavy suitcase across the city for a sick family member back home to his parents. He enlists the help of his best friend, Fahmi Tadesse, when an unexpected turn turns his simple task into an epic journey across the city of Seattle, navigating directions to get his stuff on time, along with the challenges of family responsibility, self-identification, and displacement amidst the ongoing redevelopment and economic displacement of the only community he has ever known as home.

Writer, director, and producer Zia Mohajer Ghasbi is an Iranian-American filmmaker from Seattle, a city that has served as the primary focus of his work. He has directed critically acclaimed music videos for bands such as Macklemore & the Blue Scholars, Jake One, and Common Market, as well as a 2007 documentary short film, Manoj, with comedian Hari Kondabolu. In 2009, Zia became the youngest ever winner of Seattle's The Stranger Weekly's Genius Award. In 2015, he wrote and directed the award-winning narrative short film, Hagereseb, and is also the director of cinematography and director of the ongoing story series, The Charcoal Sky. Know Your Place, which Zia wrote and directed, was shot on location in Seattle and is his feature film debut.
