Corey Lewandowski is back advising Donald Trump's presidential campaign, spreading his boss's ugly, malicious lie that Vice President Kamala Harris and mothers in blue states support infanticide.
It is completely wrong for Democrats to support infanticide. It is just another malicious lie to smear women who support reproductive autonomy by a party that wants to control women’s bodies.
“Kamala Harris, who has had a radical stance on abortion, many Democrats believe you can have an abortion not only up until the last week but also in some cases after the baby is born,” Lewandowski claimed on Fox News Sunday.
But this is completely untrue. It is a tradition promoted by Trump and repeated by his followers to portray Democrats and pro-choice women as evil. First and foremost, infanticide is strictly illegal in all 50 states, and abortions that occur late in pregnancy are extremely rare, and many states have banned them, especially since Roe v. Wade was overturned. In 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that less than 1 percent of abortions occur at or after the 21st week. When abortions occur later in pregnancy, they are for a fatal birth defect or to save the mother’s life.
Trump repeated this lie on the debate stage against President Joe Biden earlier this month. “The problem they have is they’re extremists,” Trump lied, “because they’ll kill an eight-month-old baby, a nine-month-old baby, even after birth.”

On Fox, anchor Shannon Bream pushed back against Lewandowski, noting that Democrats “say they absolutely deny the idea of infanticide… I think everyone agrees that infanticide is illegal and wrong.”
But we can expect more of these malicious lies from Trump and Republicans as they grow increasingly desperate in the race against Harris, who is narrowly ahead in national polls and in a number of swing states.
