The rapper's lawyers say he has a concealed carry permit in Georgia that is invalid in Nevada.
Lil Baby was arrested Monday morning and charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a license, Rolling Stone This can be confirmed. The rapper was later released on bail. His lawyers say they are now “actively investigating” the circumstances of the rapper's arrest.
Lil Baby, born Dominique Jones, was arrested around 5 a.m. in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard on Aug. 26. TMZ, which first confirmed the arrest, claims the rapper was seen on video carrying a gun inside the Encore Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. He was released on $5,000 bail from the Clark County Detention Center.
“For clarity, Dominique Jones has a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon in Georgia,” his attorneys Drew Findling and David Chesnoff said in a statement to Rolling Stone“On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas.”
Lil Baby’s concealed carry permit from Georgia is not valid in Nevada, which recognizes concealed carry permits from 28 states. Georgia is not one of those states. Findling and Chensoff did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Rolling StoneRequest comment on these details.
