Lindsay Lohan, Jodie Foster Honor Disney Legend Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis has always been a legend, but now it's official: She was named a Disney Legend on Sunday during the D23 Expo.

Lindsay Lohan took the stage to preview a montage of Curtis's most memorable roles, telling the crowd, “I had the pleasure of working with Jamie Lee Curtis. The magic of Jamie Lee Curtis is that she is timeless. Every character she plays is different, and she always brings something unique to the role. I feel so lucky to have Jamie as a friend in my life, and I feel so lucky to work with a woman I admire so much.”

Jodie Foster surprised the audience after introducing Lohan to further extol Curtis, saying, “My best friend Jamie and I have a lot in common,” recalling their upbringing as young women in Hollywood.

“Here are a few weird things you probably don’t know about her: You probably don’t know that she eats dinner at 3 or 4, and is asleep by 7:30. She wakes up at 3 a.m., saves the world, and does a little online shopping,” Foster continued.

“She’s so understanding and so generous, and such a supportive and kind cheerleader, it makes me want to punch her,” Foster said with a laugh. “Is this wrong?” Foster then presented Curtis with a pair of embroidered Mickey Mouse ears.

Curtis got emotional as she accepted her award (and the mouse ears). “The truth is, legends aren’t made. They’re created when they’re nurtured, taught, and taught,” she said. Curtis then talked about her favorite Disney ride, Carousel of Progress, and invited the audience to sing along to the theme song and really listen to the lyrics.

“There is a great, big, beautiful tomorrow that dawns at the end of every day. There is a great, big, beautiful tomorrow and tomorrow is just a distant dream,” she said.

Curtis is currently co-producing “Freaky Friday 2” for the company. She previously starred in the 2003 film “Freaky Friday,” alongside Lindsay Lohan. Last year, she appeared as Mrs. Liotta in the live-action adaptation of the popular Disneyland ride “Haunted Mansion.”
