Liz Cheney Says She Will Vote for Harris in 2024 Presidential Election

“Not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, I am voting for Kamala Harris,” the former Wyoming congresswoman said.

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) is the latest prominent Republican to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president. The former congresswoman, an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump, announced her decision during an event at Duke University.

“Being here in North Carolina, I think it’s very important for people to realize, not only is what I just said about the danger Trump poses something that should stop people from voting for him, but I don’t think we have the luxury of writing down the names of candidates, especially in swing states,” Cheney said in a video posted to social media on Wednesday.

“As a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this, and because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only will I not vote for Donald Trump, I will vote for Kamala Harris,” she continued.

Cheney, who was a member of the House Select Committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, had previously warned that another Trump presidency could sound the death knell for democracy.
