NFL player joins DK Metcalf to showcase brand's sleepwear collection, highlighting the importance of comfort

It was lululemon The brand has recently been moving into partnerships with athletes. It hit the big stage by outfitting Team Canada for the Olympics opening ceremony, and now the brand is teaming up with NFL player Odell Beckham Jr. to highlight the brand’s men’s sleepwear collection.
While sponsorships are often about showing athletes at the peak of their game, with green Gatorade sweats and slogans about winning, Lululemon’s OBJ campaign is all about comfort. In the minute-long YouTube ad, wide receivers OBJ and DK Metcalf say “not today” to the many responsibilities and distractions that come with being a professional athlete, highlighting the importance of rest and relaxation when it comes to performing at your best.
Seahawks quarterback DK Metcalf was the first to partner with Lululemon last year, becoming the first active NFL athlete to be associated with the brand. Now OBJ has joined Metcalf to highlight Lululemon’s sleepwear collection, which includes t-shirts, slippers, shorts and more comfortable basics.
The collection comes in three fabrics. Steady State is a warm cotton/polyester fleece, Soft Jersey is a moisture-wicking, breathable polyester, and Smooth Spacer is a stretchy polyester/modal. “Lululemon makes the best activewear, and they’ve taken the same approach with their sleepwear, which looks and feels great,” Beckham Jr. said of the partnership.
