Sony has now released a new trailer for Craven the Hunteroffers a fresh look at Aaron Taylor Johnson (kick ass, The man responsible for this) as Sergei Kravinoff/Kraven in the first live-action incarnation of the Marvel Comics villain. To the excitement (and concern) of Marvel fans everywhere, the trailer offered our first good look at Rhino, who will be played by Alessandro Nivola. Of course, There are a lot of opinions online about this live-action version of the Spider-Man villain, and while the general reception to the trailer has been generally positive, Marvel fans aren't ready for it yet.
Much of the concern about the film stems from Sony's poor track record with Marvel characters. Its attempt to build the Sony Spider-Man universe (SSU) has been extremely unbalanced, especially when it comes to non-Spider-Man films. Madam Web (SSU) caused the studio to rethink its approach to Cravenand that's evident in the trailer. While there were concerns among some, the consensus among fans is that Aaron Taylor-Johnson will deliver an effective performance as Kraven, while others simply decided to embrace the simple joy of seeing the unlikely duo of Kraven and Venom in their local theaters.
The first trailer for the film, released last year, focused heavily on character development, with shots of Seiji’s youth and plenty of shots of Russell Crowe, who plays his strict father Nikolai. This has been toned down in the new trailer, with a greater focus on the action and R-rated violence.
