A pair of “incompetent scoundrels from Quincy” get into big trouble after a spectacularly botched robbery of Boston's corrupt mayor on election night. The instigators Matt Damon and Casey Affleck lead an all-star cast into a pit of laughter and failure. The hilarious action starts right from the start and never stops. A light comedy that embraces the absurd. The somewhat clever opening chapter clearly loses its narrative power. While the film struggles to find a coherent ending. This usually serves as a cinematic turning point, but The instigators Lovable characters and consistent jokes keep the humor flowing throughout.
Rory (Damon), a former Marine going through a bitter divorce, expresses his grief to his caretaker Dr. Rivera (Hong Chau). He is deeply in debt and has not seen his son in years. Meanwhile, bakery owner Mr. P (Michael Stuhlbarg) is furious with underlings Scalfo (Jack Harlow) and Ritchie (Alfred Molina) for not finding a crew in time. He had the worst result of his life and needed help fast.
Recently released, Coby (Casey Affleck) sits at his adoptive father's bar, penniless and aimless. He's having trouble with Scalvo, but decides to take his call. Coby is surprised to find Rory also waiting for him at an abandoned beach club. Who is this man? What is he doing here? Coby curses Scalvo on sight, but the ever-angry Mr. B won't say a damn thing. There's a fortune to be stolen if they can put a plan together quickly.

Mr. B knows that anyone who wants to curry favor with the mayor will hand over huge amounts of untraceable cash. All they have to do is walk in, con a few people, and leave with bags of cash. What could possibly go wrong?
Director Doug Liman (The SwingersAmazon Road house) meets with Damon from Bourne IdentityBut Rory is far from an elite secret agent. He was a Marine mechanic and has never done anything illegal in his life. Coby has a modicum of evil experience, but he's no hardened criminal either. They're literally the only two men available for the job as time runs out.
Rory and Coby are thrust together as complete strangers who must rely on each other in a potentially dangerous situation.Neither of them imagined the robbery would be easy, but they never anticipated the catastrophe that would follow. To say that the worst-case scenario had happened would be an understatement.

Perlman and Stuhlbarg nearly steal the show with their unmitigated anger.They'll lose everything if Rory and Coby aren't caught. The extremely talented Molina also has a hilarious calmness. His constant delivery of escalating bad news is his standout feature.
Affleck and Chuck McLean (city on the hillThe script hits a snag in the second act of the story, where it ties together the scattered threads. Rory and Cubby can't run for long before something else happens. Unfortunately, the story relies on ridiculous decisions and ridiculous situations to reach its climax, which makes no sense at all.
