Michael Brooks has been appointed Managing Director of Warner Bros. Discovery Australia and New Zealand.
In addition to his current role as General Manager of Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia, Brooks will assume the expanded role immediately, reporting to James Gibbons and Ronald Joyce, President of WBITVP.
Brooks has been with the company since 2016, and prior to that spent over 10 years in the US, including leadership roles at BBC Studios and Endemol Shine North America.
In the newly expanded role, Brooks will oversee all non-theatrical businesses domestically, including networks and streaming, content licensing and home entertainment, consumer products and gaming, as well as WBITVP Australia. WBITVP New Zealand will remain within its current reporting structure at WBITVP’s London headquarters and is not part of Brooks’ expanded scope.
Separately, current Asia Pacific CFO Justin Emmer has decided to leave the company, leaving at the end of this year.[Emmer] “He has been an excellent partner to me and the leadership team in leading our financial operations and supporting the strategic objectives of the region,” said Gibbons. “I would like to thank Justin for his dedication and wish him every success in the future.”
Nilesh Zaveri has been appointed Senior Vice President, CFO and Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific, and will join WBD on September 9, reporting to Trey Turner, Chief Financial Officer, International. In this dual role, Zaveri will lead the finance operations in Asia Pacific and support business operations and planning across the region, contributing to growth projects and driving operational excellence and efficiency.
Zaveri joins WBD with over 20 years of leadership experience across Asia. Most recently, he was Managing Director of VICE Media Group’s Asia Pacific operations, where he successfully launched the regional business to drive revenue and audience growth. Prior to that, Nilesh held regional CFO roles at VICE, Discovery and Fox.
