“I'm working on the script seven days a week, and it's big, or at least as big as the original, which was two hours and 50 minutes long… We're going to shoot it in Paraguay, and also in Mexicali, and in Chicago and in Los Angeles, and then in Southeast Asia, and maybe Bhutan.”
These are some of the specific details about the highly anticipated crime thriller, and they should be more than enough to inspire hope that the film will not only hit the cameras before the end of 2025, but that it might also live up to the legacy of the original. In fact, Mann is hoping to see the film hit the big screen in 2025 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original film. Will it be as intense, action-packed, and impactful as the original? That’s a pretty high bar to meet, but everything is lining up so that the film at least has a fighting chance.
What do we know about heat 2?
It was released in August 2022 and received critical acclaim before appearing on the New York Times bestseller list, Heat 2 The novel follows the early days of Vincent Hanna (played in the original film by Al Pacino), Chris Shearless (Val Kilmer), and Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro).
