Miraculous Corp.’s Andy Yeatman to Host Mipjunior Keynote

Mipjunior will highlight the successful Miraculous franchise with a keynote hosted by Andy Yeatman, newly appointed CEO of Miraculous Corp.’s U.S. and global operations.

The new company, Miraculous Corp., is a joint venture between Mediawan, the European production and distribution group headed by Pierre-Antoine Capton, and Zag, the animation studio behind “Miraculous” founded by Jeremy Zag. The company was created to oversee the franchise’s expansion plans.

During the keynote, Yeatman will share his ambitions and views on Miraculous Corp and reveal more details about the global strategy, including an early look at the new lineup, including TV movies, spinoff series, feature films, and new characters.

The session, scheduled for October 19, will be part of Mipjunior’s ‘Expanding Your Playground’ programme which will address the challenges facing the sector, as well as creativity to monetisation across all screens.

The keynote address marks Yeatman's first appearance since his appointment in June, following his tenure as president of Moonbug USA. Yeatman also founded and headed Netflix's kids content division after a successful stint at Walt Disney Studios.

“Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir”, written by Thomas Astruc, Nathaniel Brun and Jérémie Zag, has been shown in 150 territories since its debut in 2015 on various streaming and linear platforms such as Globo in Brazil, TF1 in France and Disney Channel, Disney+ and Netflix worldwide, ranking as the number one animated series for non-preschool children. Produced in collaboration with Zag and Mediawan Kids & Family, the French animated series has so far had five seasons, three TV movies and a feature film, “Miraculous, The Movie”, which is one of the most watched French animated films worldwide.

The superhero film was released in theaters during the summer of 2023 in select countries, reaching number one in France and Germany, and on Netflix worldwide, where it garnered over 35 million views in its first month. A fourth TV movie and a sixth season will soon be streaming worldwide. A seventh season of the series has already been announced, along with a second feature film.

Miraculous has a digital footprint of over 40 billion views on YouTube and 33 million subscribers across its 17 official channels, as well as over 702 million views on TikTok. Retail sales have surpassed $1.5 billion worldwide, according to Miraculous Corp.

“The kids’ sector is where original thinking and forward-thinking strategies begin, and the Mipjunior keynote is the platform where leaders can share such thinking with their international peers,” said Lucy Smith, Director of Mipjunior and Mipcom Cannes. Smith praised Pittman as “one of the most respected and insightful minds in the kids’ sector.”

“I have been a fan of the Miraculous series since its inception,” says Yeatman. “As we approach our 10th anniversary, I am excited to share our ambitions and the strategy we are implementing with Miraculous Corp. to expand this exceptional series even further with new heroes, villains and adventures.”
