Mortal Kombat 2 Will Correct One Major Mistake From the 2021 Movie

Next sequel Mortal Kombat 2 It will include one of The most important parts of the video game it's based on – and one that was noticeably and strangely missing from the first movie – human combat CompetitionWhile you might think it would be difficult to make, human combat The film, without the actual title character, was made in 2021, but returning star Lewis Tan has now confirmed that the sequel will feature a “champion” and that it will “be 100 times better in the second film based on what we learned from the first.”

Mortal Kombat 2 The film will begin with mixed martial arts fighter Cole Young, who has previously descended from his world, as he and a group of other fighters must fight to defend Earthworld against the Outworld. Not much is known about the plot yet, but Tan has now revealed to Collider that the sequel will be “more exciting” and will feature a lot more “wild, crazy nonsense” than the arguably somewhat quieter first installment.

“I would say the tone is a little bit different. It’s more fast-paced. And like I said, it’s hard to deal with and navigate this story because they did it with a new character who’s not in the game, right? It’s like whose story are we telling? How do we tell it? How do we bring this to an audience of people who maybe don’t know Mortal Kombat very well and some of the fans? We addressed that in the first movie, and now we’re just starting to race. We can just go. So the second movie has wild, crazy nonsense and it’s incredible.”

Mortal Kombat 2 will bring Johnny Cage into the fight

The only thing we know about Mortal Kombat 2 is that it will introduce us to fan-favorite fighter Johnny Cage. Boys Star Karl Urban recently hinted that filming the movie might be a little different than what fans are expecting. He told Screen Rant…

“He gives a really interesting portrayal of Johnny Cage. I can’t say too much, but I can say personally that he’s a great guy and we had a lot of fun, we laughed a lot on set, and I love what he does with the character. I think he’s really unique, maybe different from what people expect, but I think he’s a really good actor. He’s been around for a long time, he’s done a lot of great roles, a lot of great franchises himself. So yeah, he’s no stranger to that kind of thing, so he brings something really special to the table.”
