‘My Lady Jane’ Canceled After One Season at Amazon


My Lady Jane has been cancelled from Amazon Prime Video, diverse And he confirmed.

The historical fantasy drama series aired one season of eight episodes on the streaming service, which premiered in full on June 27.

The series' cast includes: Emily Bader, Edward Bluemel, Jordan Peters, Anna Chancellor, Dominic Cooper, Kate O'Flynn, Rob Brydon, Abbie Hearn, Isabella Brownson, Robin Betteridge, Henry Ashton, Mairead Tyers, Michael Workay, Joe Klossick, Brandon Grace, and Will Keen.

The show was inspired by the book of the same name written by Cynthia Hand, Brody Ashton, and Judy Meadows.

The official line of the series states, “Prepare for the tragic tale of Lady Jane Grey, a young Tudor noblewoman who was Queen of England for nine days and then beheaded, in 1553. Actually… to hell with that. We’re retelling history the way it should have happened: the doomed damsel saves herself. This is an epic tale of true love and high adventure in an alternate universe of action, history, fantasy, comedy, romance and fun. Fasten your seatbelts.”

The series was created by Gemma Burgess, who also served as executive producer and co-showrunner with Meredith Glenn. Jamie Babbitt, Sarah Bradshaw, and Laurie McDonald also executive produced, with Babbitt serving as director on five of the eight episodes in the series as well.

Despite not having a wide audience, the show has proven popular with critics. The first season currently holds a 91% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In its review of diverse“In the same vein as Hulu’s The Great, the series is an action-packed, fun-filled adventure filled with magic, romance, and bold female characters who take control of their heritage,” said Aramide Tinubu.
