Netflix India has unveiled a new collaboration with creators Raj & DK for its first action fantasy series, 'Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom'.
This project comes on the heels of their recent successful collaboration with the “Guns & Gulaabs” series.
The duo will collaborate with director Rahi Anil Barve and writer Seeta R. Menon under their production house, D2R Films. The series is set to feature action sequences and visual effects set in a fantasy kingdom.
Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, popularly known as Raj & DK, have established themselves as innovative directors in the Indian entertainment industry. The duo is widely acclaimed for their work on films like 99, Shore in the City, and Go Goa Gone. They have also found success in the streaming space with Prime Video series like The Family Man and Farzi. The duo formed a multi-year creative partnership with Netflix in 2022.
Barfi made his feature film debut with the critically acclaimed Tumbbad in 2018. The folk horror film has received praise for its visual storytelling and unique narrative approach. Tumbbad premiered at Venice, opening the Critics' Week section. It also screened at Fantastic Fest in Busan and the BFI London Film Festival as part of the Fantastic World Festival.
Menon, a long-time collaborator with Raj and DK, has worked with the duo on various projects as a writer. Her work includes contributions to the 'The Family Man' series and other productions under D2R Films.
