If you’re feeling nostalgic for the 1980s, Netflix has got you covered. As part of their Milestone Movies: The Anniversary Collection, the streamer is sending over two dozen 1984 movies to Netflix-owned theaters for a limited time. The films will screen at the Paris Theater in New York, The Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, and The Bay Theater in Pacific Palisades, California, throughout select dates in April and May (via Variety). The films will also be available to stream. In January, Netflix announced its Milestones Movie Collection, which celebrates cinema turning 20 to 50 years old throughout 2024.

The curated selection of 1984 features includes something for just about everyone – whether you’re taking a trip down memory lane or watching for the first time. Among the chosen titles are 1980s staples like Eddy Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop (a good watch ahead of Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, which premieres on the streamer on July 3), John Hughes’ coming-of-age Sixteen Candles, and the Kevin Bacon-led Footloose. There’s also an opportunity to check out Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan’s first feature role in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, where the actor famously portrayed Short Round when he was just 12. Horror fans, meanwhile, are sure to enjoy a rewatch (or two) of horror legend Robert Englund’s first go-around as Freddy Krueger in Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elm Street.

Decades before Denis Villeneuve amassed praise and box office success with his star-studded Dune films, David Lynch and Kyle MacLachlan (in his first film role) joined forces to bring Frank Herbert’s sci-fi novel to the big screen. Despite flopping – both at the box office and with critics – the film gained a cult following. Several other cult classics, like Brian De Palma’s Body Double, Rob Reiner’s critically acclaimed This is Spinal Tap, John Carpenter’s Academy Award-nominated sci-fi Starman, and the fantastical The NeverEnding Story, also join the 1984 collection.

Netflix’s 1974-chosen films for their previous Milestone Movies included Chinatown, Blazing Saddles, and Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. In July, the streamer will feature films from 1994; 2004 films will follow in October.
