Similar to the first season of Monster, which focused on the life of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, season three will explore the crimes of Ed Gein, the killer who inspired the classic horror film. Texas Chainsaw MassacreGein committed murders in his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin, earning him the nicknames The Butcher of Plainfield and The Ghoul of Plainfield. He gained notoriety in 1957 after it was discovered that Gein had been exhuming bodies from local graveyards to make furniture and clothing from their bodies. He later confessed to the murders of two women, Mary Hogan in 1954 and Bernice Worden in 1957, and was a suspect in seven other murders.
