All of this is unfortunate, given the celebrity status of Air McNair and the desire of those who want a clearer picture of what happened.
The documentary expects a lot from its audience, with many elements being treated as “knowledgeable,” which doesn’t sit well with the average Netflix audience or true crime fan, who see the documentary as their entry point into the Air McNair case. The documentary would have worked better by treating the subject as “up and down,” focusing more on his football achievements and personal life up until his death.
