Daryl and Carol fans have a lot to look forward to when “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” returns for its second season, titled “The Book of Carol.”
Melissa McBride, who was originally set to star in the series alongside Norman Reedus but had to step away for personal reasons, made her first appearance in the final episode of season one; she later joined season two and will also star in the recently announced season three. She knew she would be back for season two for a long time.
“That was before the scripts were written for the first season,” Reedus said in diverse “The studio, which Google TV introduced at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con. “The connection they have — she can feel it. Something doesn’t feel right. It’s like a hunch… It’s a tangible, kind of cosmic connection.”
As for Carol, McBride says, “I think she's worried about where her friend is. When things calm down, things get hotter, so she's on a mission to find her friend for a number of reasons.”
The second season of the AMC series picks up where the first season left off as both Daryl and Carol “face old demons as she struggles to find her girlfriend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension in the nest.”
So how long will it take for the duo to reunite? The group couldn't reveal details, of course, but McBride joked, “It's a great journey but it's taking that long.”
the husband will However, since the third season of the series, which stars the duo, was announced on Friday, it will take place in Madrid, with filming scheduled to take place in the regions of Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia and Valencia.

“It’s part of Daryl and Carol’s evolution of trying to get home. They find their way there for a bunch of surprising and wonderful reasons but Spain is just across the border from France,” said series executive producer David Zabel. “It’s one of the things that sets us apart from other Walking Dead shows — that we get to show how different parts of the world responded to the Walking Dead apocalypse and the different impact it had in different places and come up with some cool, new things that you don’t see in the American versions.”
“We’ve gotten better,” executive producer and director Greg Nicotera added, before noting that the travel “keeps it fresh.”
“He said one of the reasons we went to Europe in the beginning was to do a whole new journey and take the characters we know and put them in a foreign land, and any opportunity where we can continue to explore the world is a great opportunity for these characters.”
Season 2 of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol” is set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ on September 29.
