Oasis Reunite, Announce 2025 Concerts

Hell didn't Frozen, but the oasis came together again.

Fifteen years after their split, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher appear to have put their differences aside, announcing a series of concerts in the UK and Ireland for 2025. The group announced the Oasis Live '25 tour early Tuesday morning, though details of the North American shows have yet to be announced. It's also unclear which original band members will join the Gallaghers.

Oasis will perform in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin in the summer of 2025. A press release notes that these will be their only shows in Europe next year and that “plans are underway for Oasis Live '25 to move to other continents outside of Europe later next year.”

“The guns have fallen silent, the stars have aligned, and the long wait is over. Come and see. The show will not be televised,” the band said in a statement.

The band have officially confirmed their reunion after a weekend of rumours and speculation on social media (which happened to coincide with the 2024 Reading Festival – which Oasis headlined 24 years ago in 2000 – and the 30th anniversary of their debut album Sure maybeReports are emerging that the Gallagher family has settled their 15-year feud and will announce a series of UK concerts in 2025.

Sure, similar rumors have surfaced over the years, and at first Liam—who is insatiable about labels—seemed to dispel them again, responding to fan inquiries with “news to me” and “I don’t know anything.” But eventually Gallagher’s tweets became more tongue-in-cheek and open, including the standalone message, “I never liked the word FORMER.”

On Sunday, the Oasis account seemed to confirm something, tweeting the message, “08/27/24, 8am.”

Oasis were one of the bands that defined the British pop era and one of the biggest bands in the world for nearly two decades. During their early career, between 1991 and 2009, they released seven albums, including classics such as Sure maybe and (What's the story) Morning Glory?

But the band's success during the 1990s and early 2000s was often matched only by the long-running tensions between Noel and Liam. After the band split, the brothers never hesitated to criticize each other in the press, often insisting that one of them was the reason Oasis never got back together.

Since the breakup of Oasis, the Gallagher brothers have focused on other projects. Noel Gallagher's band High Flying Birds has released four albums since 2011, the most recent being Heaven CouncilMeanwhile, Liam has released two albums with Beady Eye, followed by three solo records; earlier this year, he released a collaborative work with John Squire.

Tickets for the UK shows go on sale from 9am local time on Saturday 31 August, and will be available from Ticketmaster, Gigs and Tours and See Tickets. Dublin tickets will be available from 8am local time on the same day from Ticketmaster.
