Oasis Streams Surge on Spotify Amid Reunion Rumors

Shortly after rumors spread that an Oasis reunion was on the horizon, listeners flocked to the band's catalog on Spotify, streaming in droves.

From 9am to 11am UTC this morning, Oasis streams on Spotify increased by over 160 percent globally compared to the previous week, and the increase continued to grow into this morning, diverse Fans are getting back into the music after rumours spread over the weekend that Oasis' Liam and Noel Gallagher will play a UK show in 2025, with the show set to run for 10 nights at London's Wembley Stadium.

The often-feuding brothers appear to have confirmed that a reunion is indeed on the horizon, as they both posted a cryptic video teasing that something will happen on August 27, 2024 at 8 a.m. This is likely an announcement of performance dates, as Liam has been setting the X on fire with more posts.

“I never liked the word FORMER,” Liam wrote. When one user complained that Oasis would be playing at Heaton Park in Manchester because of the “terrible venue,” Liam replied, “See you at the front you big idiot.”

Oasis officially disbanded in 2009 after Noel left, and each brother pursued solo careers in the years that followed. Last April, Oasis was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which would have led to a reunion if the band were inducted into the Hall of Fame. But Liam quickly shut down that possibility.

“Damn the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it’s full of BUMBACLARTS,” Liam Gallagher wrote on X at the time. In another post, he said of his brother: “Little guy loves hanging out with celebrities, so he’ll probably go with them; I’ll just wash my hair, get a pedicure and a manicure.”

Last June, Liam embarked on a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of Oasis' debut album “Definitely Maybe,” and the album is set to be re-released next Friday.
