Olympics Failure Raygun Now Number One Breakdancer

Worst break dancer At the Olympics, Raegan—who had a zero in all disciplines—was officially the world’s number one. And before you could even finish tasting your saliva, the World Dance Sport Federation—who declared Dr. Rachel Jean the world’s best wild girl this week—knew what she was thinking and prepared a statement in her defense.

The federation explained on Tuesday that the assessment was based on “each athlete's four best performances over the past 12 months.” and The Olympic Games and Olympic qualifiers do not count. The New York Times He points out that there were not many events that were not related to the Olympics.

So all the girls who participated in the belly dancing competition and who vaulted and jumped in Paris were required to participate in qualifying competitions to maintain their status. “By the end of the Olympic Games, many of the competition results included in the rankings had expired, leading to the current situation where only one competition result contributes to the ranking of many athletes,” the guilty plea statement reads.

Although Raegan jumped like a kangaroo in Paris and faced “devastating” social media scorn and an unforgiving Rachel Dratch in the weeks that followed, she performed well in an official competition when other breakers were competing for gold. “The recent rankings of breaker Raegan and breaker Rico have drawn particular attention,” the federation explained. “Both players have earned 1,000 points in their respective events: breaker Raegan was ranked first at the Oceania Continental Championships, October 2023… [and] B-Girl Riko takes 1st place at Breaking for Gold World Series in Hong Kong, December 2023.

Furthermore, some obscure fine print in the WDSF's Rules and Regulations Breaking Guide (Article 5.1. 1 for those of you who have a copy handy) gave Raygun an advantage over Riko, despite their scores being tied.

“The World Baseball Confederation confirms that the rankings will change after the expiration of the aforementioned 12-month period and when the next World Baseball Championship is held in Shanghai in October 2024,” the statement read. The statement also provides an email address for anyone (in this case, everyone) with questions.

Since Raygun Points expire next month, she'll have to jump a little higher to get back to the top next time.
