The second part of the series is said to take place 20 years later, and deals with the story of two friends, Brooke and Peyton, who are now parents of teenagers and face challenges that are not unfamiliar to what they faced in the original series, such as love, insecurity and grief.
One tree hill It premiered in 2003 on The CW, and later on The WB. What will One Tree Hill 2 explore?
When Burton left the series in 2009, Murray left as well. During the final season, Burton's Peyton and Murray's Lucas got married and had a daughter. While we can imagine the series will address the two's relationship, as Murray “has no plans to return in the next installment,” we'll assume Peyton and Lucas aren't in Endgame. For the record, Bush and Murray had a short-lived real-life marriage that didn't end amicably. As for Bush's Brooke, the series finale saw her marry Julian (Austin Nichols) and become a new mother to twins. We'll have to see if Nichols returns or if the story takes Brooke in a different romantic direction.
There's one couple that fans of the original series definitely won't want to see at odds: Lucas, played by Lafferty, and Hayley, played by Lenz. The fan-favorite duo began their romance during the show's inaugural season and later became parents to Jamie and Lydia. It would be hard to imagine one of these characters returning without the other, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that we'll be able to follow more of their love story if the series is officially greenlit. If the series does get the greenlight, it's likely that more of the original cast will be approached to return.
