Oprah Winfrey is set to host a primetime special on ABC that will address the use of artificial intelligence and its impact on people's daily lives.
The special, titled “Artificial Intelligence and Our Future: An Oprah Winfrey Special,” is scheduled to air on September 12 at 8 p.m. ET and then stream on Hulu the following day. The event will feature conversations with technology and media experts including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, former Microsoft CEO and Gates Foundation Chairman Bill Gates, content creator Marques Brownlee, and many more.
“‘Artificial Intelligence and Our Future: A Special with Oprah Winfrey’ provides a serious, entertaining and meaningful foundation for every viewer to understand artificial intelligence and empowers everyone to be part of one of the most important global conversations of the 21st century,” the logline reads.
“Altman will explain how AI works in simple terms and discuss the enormous personal responsibility that AI executives must take; Gates will outline the coming AI revolution in science, health, and education and warn of the once-in-a-century impact AI could have on the job market; and YouTube creator and tech guru Marques Brownlee will guide Winfrey through stunning demonstrations of AI’s capabilities.”
Other guests include Tristan Harris and Aza Raskin, co-founders of the Center for Humane Technology, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Marilynne Robinson.
