Outer Banks Season 3 premiered in February 2023, and while it received mixed reviews, fans have high expectations for season 4. Like many other TV shows, the season was delayed due to the Hollywood strikes of 2023. However, filming has now officially wrapped, and while an official release date has not been announced, the first episode is expected to premiere sometime in October. Season 4 will consist of 10 episodes, and Netflix has yet to announce whether it will split the season and release it in two parts as it has done with many hit shows recently.

What Can Fans Expect for Outer Banks Season 4?

With season four, episode one, titled Blackbeard Hunting It’s safe to say that Blackbeard’s treasure will be the next big prize that the Bog seeks. In the Season 3 finale, a stranger approached the Bog and claimed to have the captain’s logbook. This document details the exact route that Blackbeard’s ship took before it was wrecked in 1718, losing all of its gold. So, is the Bog considering hunting for treasure for a fee next season?

The original cast members will return along with some new additions in season four. New recruits include J. Anthony Crane, Pollyanna McIntosh, Brianna Brown, with Rigo Sanchez Join as Lightner, the dangerous stranger who will test Boggs. Also, Mia Challis Cruthy joins, developing a close relationship with Topper.

Outer Banks A fast-paced drama filled with mystery where friendships and relationships are constantly changing. While the adventure and treasure hunt are exhilarating, the bonds between the Boggs family are truly the heart of the show. Over the course of its three seasons, the main characters have faced a number of trials and still managed to persevere whenever their plans were foiled, whether by their rivals the Cameron family or any other obstacle thrown their way. In the season three finale, the Boggs family finally tasted victory after finding gold at El Dorado, and series co-creator Josh Batt has since revealed why they needed to win:

“We knew we needed to give them the win, but it came down to a complicated outcome. We wanted the crowd to feel like they had achieved something and that it wasn’t all for nothing.”

However, the win was bittersweet, as they also had to come to terms with the deaths of both Ward and Big John. After all this time, fans are wondering where the characters will be as a group and individually in season four. The reveal of a new surf shop shows the group seemingly in good spirits. However, things in Kildare are never that simple. And it looks like the new season will reveal all the emotional developments from the 18-month time skip and beyond. Batty has since shared his approach and thoughts for season four:

“They need to slow down and let all the ripples flow. We've got some ideas about that. [for Season 4]Because I agree with you, you want to jump crazy.[-off-ships] “Things aren’t real, but you want emotional realism. Part of maintaining emotional realism is evaluating things and letting them affect reality, which allows us to do crazier things.”
