According to a report from Variety , a statement from Simmons’ brother posted on Simmons’ official X/Twitter account contradicts Shore’s claims, saying Simmons did not want the comedian to play him in a movie about his life.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight , Schur said he is moving forward with his film about Simmons, despite the workout icon previously stating he is against the idea. Discussing the controversy, Schur said he doubts Simmons wrote the posts himself, saying:
“I know he wanted me to do it. I don’t even know if he was the one tweeting the whole time, to be honest. I don’t know who that person was.”

I'm just trying to live a quiet life and be peaceful.” He later revealed that he was in discussions with a studio about a biopic, though details were never revealed.
