The 2024 Latin American Music Awards are about to be on fire: Rolling Stone can exclusively reveal that Peso Pluma, Farruko, Thalía, and Sech are among the performers who will hit the stage at this year’s Latin AMAs, scheduled for April 25 later this year.
Along with Peso, Gabito Ballesteros will represent corridos while Jay Wheeler, “La Bebé” star Yng Lvcas, Sech, and Farruko will take the baton for reggaeton. And finally, Mexican DJ Deorro will represent the EDM world during his performance.
“We are excited to welcome the most electrifying and diverse lineup of artists to the stage for this year’s Latin American Music Awards,” said TelevisaUnivision exec Ignacio Meyer in a statement to Rolling Stone. “Univision has long been the home to the biggest moments in music and we’re proud to showcase the dynamic artists who are breaking ground in the music industry.”
Along with performing, Mexican pop legend Thalía will share hosting duties with Carlos Ponce and Alejandra Espinoza at the ceremony later this month set for the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The nominees for this year’s awards show were revealed last month, with Peso and Feid leading the list with 12 nods each. Bad Bunny and Grupo Frontera tied for 11 nods, Karol G and Shakira have nine, while Eslabón Armado and Fuerza Régida scored eight nominations each.
Along with performing and tying for the most-nominated star of the night, Peso will also compete for the coveted Artist of the Year award against Carin León, Eslabón Armado, Feid, Fuerza Régida, Karol G, Rauw Alejandro, Romeo Santos, and Shakira.
Of the scheduled performers, Ballesteros, Peso, and Yng Lvcas are all nominated for the New Artist of the Year Award, which also sees the likes of Xavi and Young Miko.
Peso recently graced the cover of Rolling Stone‘s Future of Music issue, where he shared that he’s been working on a new album even while traveling and performing across the globe. “Wherever I keep going, I keep advancing it little by little,” he said at the time.
