Pharrell’s Something In the Water Fest Postponed Until 2025

“This should be epic, and trust me, after this long wait, it will be,” Pharrell wrote.

Farrell announced Virginia's annual Something's In The Water festival has been postponed until April 2025.

The mega-producer made the announcement on the same day that tickets for the festival went on pre-sale, writing on social media on Friday that the show wasn't ready and needed time to be as good as he wanted.

“Virginia doesn’t deserve better, it deserves better. Something in the Water has to live up to that. It’s not ready yet,” Pharrell wrote. “That’s why we as a team have decided to postpone this year’s Something in the Water festival, which was scheduled to take place in October. This isn’t a Pharrell festival, it’s a Virginia festival and it has to be better. Virginia made me, and I want to honor it with the utmost love it has shown me throughout my life.”

Any tickets already purchased will be automatically refunded, Farrell said. Those who have already purchased will get priority access to tickets for next year's festival, he wrote.

The postponement comes at a difficult time for the music festival industry, which is facing higher costs, higher artist prices and increasingly bad weather. Made In America, the annual festival in Philadelphia, was canceled earlier this year, while organizers of Desert Daze in Lake Perris, California, announced last month that they were canceling the event due to “rising production costs and the current volatile festival market.”

For his part, Pharrell promised that next year's event would be worth the postponement. He wrote: “This event is bound to be epic, and trust me, after this long wait, it will be.”
