Phoebe Dynevor Thriller ‘Beneath the Storm’ Lands August 2025 Release


Violent Night director Tommy Wirkola is gearing up for his next project. His new film is called Beneath the Storm and is set to hit theaters on August 1, 2025, via Columbia Pictures.

The film is written by Wirkola, stars Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton, Fair Play), Whitney Peake (Gossip Girl, Hocus Pocus 2), and Djimon Hounsou (Rebel Moon, A Quiet Place: Day One), and is produced by Adam McKay and Kevin Messick. Plot details are under wraps.

Wirkola's previous directing credits include “Dead Snow,” “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters” and “What Happened to Monday.”

Dynevor is best known for her role in the Netflix series Bridgerton, and has also appeared in films such as The Colour Room, Dave's Bank, and Fair Play. She received a BAFTA Rising Star nomination in 2024. She is set to appear in Neil Burger's spy thriller Inheritance and Diane Lane's drama Anniversary.

Beck led Max's reboot of “Gossip Girl” for two seasons, and has also appeared in the Disney+ sequel “Hocus Pocus 2” and Netflix's “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.” She's next set to appear in “Trap House” alongside Dave Bautista, Sophia Lillis, Jack Champion and Bobby Cannavale.

Hounsou most recently starred in “A Quiet Place: Day One” and the first two installments of Zack Snyder’s Netflix series “Rebel Moon.” He has been nominated for two Academy Awards for his performances in 2002’s “In America” and 2006’s “Blood Diamond.” He is next set to appear in the survival thriller “Last Breath” with Simu Liu and Woody Harrelson.
