Pitbull Rejects Kesha Was Intentionally Removed From ‘Timber’ Video


After some aggressive speculation by fans, Pitbull went to X ((formerly Twitter) on Sunday to address rumors aboutBut why was Kesha's name removed from the title of their 2013 music video, “Timber.”

“[Kesha] “I have a great song together, nothing will change that. Pitbull's team is looking into this. Nothing but love for Kesha, Del!” Pitbull wrote.

Pitbull also posted a video from the duo's joint music video.

The music video, originally titled “Pitbull – Timber (Official Video) ft. Kesha”, was edited to “Pitbull – Timber (Official Video)”, dropping the name of the iconic 2000s pop star. After noticing the change, Kesha fans took to social media to express their outrage over the switch, with some calling it an act of revenge by American songwriter and producer Łukasz Sebastian Gottwald, also known as Dr. Luke.

Dr. Luke was one of the most popular artists of the late 2000s, and worked with Pitbull and Kesha on several projects, including “Timber.” In 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke, alleging that she was sexually, mentally, and emotionally abused by the creator. Dr. Luke has denied all allegations.He filed a counter-defamation lawsuit in response, accusing her of lying to get out of her contract with his music company.

After a lengthy legal battle, a trial date was finally set for 2023. However, months before the trial was set to begin, Kesha and Dr. Luke reached an out-of-court settlement and released a joint statement on social media shortly after.

“I look forward to closing this chapter of my life and starting a new one,” Kesha wrote. “I wish nothing but peace for all parties involved.”

In his statement, Dr. Luke said: “It is time for me to put this difficult matter behind me and move on with my life. I wish Kesha all the best.”
