Fans of the Hunger Games series won’t have to wait much longer for the next installment in the fantasy series: Amazon and Target have opened pre-orders for Sunrise Over the Harvest, the fifth book in the hit young adult film series. The book is set to be released on March 18, 2025, and fans can get it now for just $22 — a 20% discount off its original price.

Although it's still a few months before Suzanne Collins' book hits shelves, “Sunrise” has already made it into the top five on Amazon's best-selling young adult books list.

Pre-order at Target

Now, the new Hunger Games book is available for pre-order online for $22. Previous special editions at Target have included everything from exclusive artwork to a new cover and extra pages.

Pre-order on Amazon

You can also find the book available to order on Amazon, which offers “Sunrise” in hardcover, Kindle, and audiobook formats. Amazon’s pre-order guarantee ensures that you’ll only pay the lowest price between the date you pre-order the book online and the date it ships.

Scholastic Press has provided both Amazon and Target with a mock cover for the new book now, with an official reveal expected in the coming months. The book is slated to be 400 pages long.

Set 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, Sunrise Over the Harvest follows a new cast of characters as they prepare for the 50th Hunger Games (also known as the Second Quarter Repression). Of course, readers of the other books will know that Haymitch Abernathy won the Games, leading to a series of revenge attacks on President Snow.

This is the second prequel to the original Hunger Games book trilogy, following The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents, which was released in 2020. Sunrise is set 40 years after the events of that novel.

“I was inspired by David Hume’s idea of subservience, and in his words, ‘the ease with which the few rule the many,’” author Suzanne Collins told The Associated Press. “The story also provided an opportunity to delve deeper into the use of propaganda and the power of those who control the narrative. The question ‘real or not real?’ seems more urgent to me every day.”

Who will be honored? Who will live and die? Return to Panem with Sunrise Over the Harvest, available for pre-order now. The book follows The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingbird, and The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents. These novels are now available as part of a four-book paperback set, available for sale on Amazon and Target.
