Ringo Starr Cancels Tour Dates Due to Illness


The drummer's doctors advised him to get some rest and cancel his recent shows in Philadelphia and New York City.

Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band have cancelled the last two shows of their North American summer tour after the former Beatle came down with a cold.

The two concerts were scheduled to take place tonight, September 24, in Philadelphia and tomorrow, September 25, in New York City. Ticket holders can request a refund at point of purchase.

“Ringo has been coming down with a cold and after consulting his doctor has advised him to cancel these two remaining shows and get some rest,” reads a note on the drummer’s Instagram page. “As always, Ringo and the All Starrs send their fans peace and love and hope to see you soon.”

Starr and the All Starr Band have spent much of the year on the road, playing concerts across the West Coast and in Mexico during the spring amid a continuing run of shows at the Venetian in Las Vegas. Their fall slate kicked off just a few weeks ago on Sept. 12 in Omaha, Nebraska.
