Rob Schneider is asking his daughter Elle King for forgiveness after she spoke out publicly about their strained relationship. In a new interview on Wednesday, the comedian apologized to King, after the “Ex's and Oh's” singer said she “didn't want to be associated” with the comedian.
“I wish I could have been the father I needed in my 20s. And clearly I wasn’t,” he said on a podcast hosted by right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson. “I hope you can forgive me for my shortcomings. I love you completely and I love you completely.”
Schneider said he now wants her to “be happy and recover from this.” He added with a sigh, “I wish you the best. I feel terrible. I just want you to know that I don't take anything you say personally.”
The apology comes just one day after the king told XO builder about stupid blonde American actress Jennifer Schneider said in a TV interview that she is “not nice at all” and that she does not plan to fix her relationship with him.
“I don’t agree with a lot of the stuff he says,” King said at the time. “You’re talking out of your ass and saying bad things about drag, you know, and anti-gay rights. It’s like, ‘Go to hell.’” She also claimed the comedian sent her to “fat camp” because she was “a really heavy kid,” and said it was “so toxic and so ridiculous.”
In her interview, King also shared that she didn't speak to her father until she was “much older,” and that Schneider would forget “every single birthday.”
“You can want someone to change a lot. You can’t control how someone else acts; you can’t control how people feel,” she said. “All you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings. And sometimes I get angry and I get angry and I get angry and I get angry.”
