Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor and Naomi Watts have joined Glenn Close and Kim Kardashian in “All’s Fair,” a new Hulu drama series created by executive producer Ryan Murphy. Watts, Nash and Paulson will also join Close and Kardashian as executive producers on the series.
Not many details have been revealed about “All’s Fair,” except that Kardashian — who recently found fame as a star in Murphy’s “American Horror Story: Delicate” — will play a Los Angeles divorce attorney at an all-female law firm, headed by Close’s character.
News of the new picks comes just weeks after diverse Halle Berry reportedly dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. According to sources familiar with the matter, no new stars will replace Berry; instead, new roles have been written for Paulson, Winch, Taylor, and Watts.
Murphy serves as writer, director and executive producer on “All’s Fair,” the first series announced under his new overall deal with Disney following his Netflix deal. Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Backen, Jamie Pacino, Lynn Greene and Richard Levine also serve as writers and executive producers. Other executive producers include Kris Jenner, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovton, Scott Robertson and Holly Jeter. The series is produced by 20th Television, in association with Ryan Murphy Television.
Paulson recently received her ninth Emmy nomination, for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” She also recently won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play (for her role in “Convenient”).
Watts was recently nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries, Anthology or Movie for her role in Murphy's “Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans.” She will star in Scott McGee and David Siegel's “The Friend,” which will premiere at the Telluride Film Festival this year. She also appeared in Murphy's “The Watcher.”
Nash Pitts won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries, Anthology or Movie for her role in Murphy's “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” She recently starred in Ava DuVernay's “Origin” and is the host of Fox's “Don't Forget the Lyrics.”
In addition to her R&B music career, Taylor received the National Board of Review's Outstanding Performance Award for her role in “A Thousand and One.” She has also appeared in “The Book of Clarence” and “Coming 2 America” and will make her directorial debut in “Get Lite” starring Storm Reid.
“All’s Fair” was recently selected as one of five shows set to receive a share of $58 million in tax credits from the California Film Commission. The show is expected to film for 97 days in California, including 10 days outside the Los Angeles area.
