The video comes ahead of the Atmos re-release of Ziggy Stardust Album

In front of A Reissue Ziggy Stardust In a new music video for the album's single “Starman,” mixed with Atmos sound, he combines the song with never-before-seen footage shot by Mick Rock.

The iconic photographer captured the footage in 1972 and 1973 during Bowie's tour to support the album. The clip includes close-ups of the artists' shiny red shoes and fans' hands reaching out towards the stage as guitarist Mick Ronson approaches, as well as an unusual perspective of Bowie and his hot red hair as he sings the song in color and black and white.

Atmos version of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from MarsThe album will be released on September 6th, and will be presented in spatial audio. The Blu-ray release includes the Atmos mix, a new stereo mix, and the original mix, which has been remastered. Ken Scott, who co-produced the original album, composed the Atmos mix with Emre Ramazanoglu at RAK Studios in London.

“You’re there with the action, with David,” Scott said in a statement about the new Atmos mix. “He was very theatrical and I think being able to put him in an immersive setting makes this a really good choice for an Atmos mix. My whole philosophy on this was to make it more like a live experience. I even had him move around the stage a little bit towards the end, the way he would have done in real life. I hope it feels like you’re in the theater with this amazing show going on.”

The re-release comes after the release of a box set, Rock and roll star! which included demos, live recordings and unfinished footage from the Ziggy Stardust era. “The collection records Bowie's vision for Ziggy Stardust An album from a cracking concept album about what he called the “archetypal rock star Messiah,” to a bisexual beacon of inclusivity, Rolling Stone Written in a positive review.
