“I lived my childhood dream tonight in the craziest way I’ve ever lived,” the singer said after returning to the ring.
Aspiring wrestler Jelly Roll returned to WWE on Saturday at SummerSlam in Cleveland, where the country star dished out some punishment using a folding chair.
The Singer, who was a spectator for most of SummerSlam, entered the ring during the match between The Miz and R-Truth against Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. Jelly Roll chose to side with the former, picking up a folding chair and thrusting it into the latter's back.
To add a touch of wonder to his evening, Jelly Roll grabbed a stunned Theory by the neck, lifted him up and sent him back to the mat.
“Crazy – I lived out my childhood dream tonight in the craziest way I've ever lived. Oh my god. Thank you WWE for everything. What a night,” Jelly Roll wrote on social media after the event. “Absolutely insane – unreal – butter cookie bombs my baby girl.”
In addition to jamming, Jelly Roll used the WWE ring as a stage, introducing the Cleveland crowd to his new song “Liar,” the official song of SummerSlam and a track from his upcoming album:
SummerSlam wasn't Gillies' first appearance in WWE—in November 2023, he got into a brawl with Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh on a WWE Raw card in Nashville. The singer had a more prominent role this time around, serving as a focal point for the promotion of SummerSlam, including starring in a promo where he dreamed of being WWE Champion.
Jelly Roll, who was everywhere in 2024 (including getting sprayed with colored mud at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards), will be on stage at the Sturgis Bike Rally this week.
