Saturday Night Live The production company announced three new cast members, Ashley Padilla, Emile Wakim and Jen Wicklin, ahead of the late-night show's 50th season premiere. Chloe Troust, who joined the cast last season, also announced her departure at the same time.
“Unfortunately, I wasn’t invited back to SNL this season,” Troust wrote on Instagram Monday night. “I wish I could come back and be with all the amazing friends I made there, it felt like home. But that wasn’t the case. I want to thank everyone who supported me. Especially everyone who came to see my tour this summer, dressed up as characters and had such wonderful things to say. You mean the world to me. I hope I was able to spread joy and laughter, and all the love. Onward and upward.”
In addition to the three new comedians, SNL Featured actors Marcelo Hernandez, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker have been promoted to the main cast. Bunky Johnson and Molly Kearney also previously announced their departures, with Johnson spending four years on the show and Kearney two.
Johnson confirmed in August that she would not be returning to “SNL” after four seasons, noting that she had been asked about returning to the show.
