The clip was released as part of Netflix's Geeked Week event in Atlanta, and the scene quickly evolves into more terrifying masked figures walking around with guns, this time dressed in pink, and Ji-hoon finds himself back in the game as Player 456. An unseen voice announces “We're ready to start the game” in Korean throughout the trailer.

Season 2 takes place three years after Ji-hoon won the huge cash prize for surviving the brutal war. squid gameAccording to the synopsis for the upcoming series, “Player 456 remains determined to find the people behind the game and end their evil sport.” As Ji-hoon uses his newfound wealth to fund his research, he soon realizes “that the path to bringing down the organization proves more deadly than he imagined: to end the game, he needs to re-enter it.”

A previous trailer for the next show showed the numbered green tracksuits of the next round of participants including Ji Hoon.

The series is scheduled to return on December 26, and the third and final season will be released in 2025.
