One of the most popular shows in history, Stranger Things, just gave fans a huge taste of what’s to come in the final season of the series, including our first look at action icon Linda Hamilton on set.

Beginning in 2016 on Netflix, Stranger Things has seeped into the culture with its exciting tale of the kids in Hawkins, Indiana battling hostile creatures from the Upside Down that are hell-bent on taking over our world. With a mix of everything from Dungeons & Dragons to H.P. Lovecraft, Stranger Things is widely regarded as one of the best sci-fi horror shows ever made. Season 5 is set to debut at some point in 2025 after a lengthy delay due in part to the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023.

Thanks to a new behind-the-scenes video released by Netflix, we now have our best look yet at what’s to come in the final season of Stranger Things. Showing actors in character, set pieces, and nostalgic clips from years past, the video is certainly a big tease and serves to only further heighten the hype around Season 5 of Stranger Things, which is being called “completely insane.”

“I started when I was 10. I’m now 20 years old. Feels very weird,” says star Millie Bobby Brown at one point, highlighting just how much Stranger Things has become a part of her life. “We’re just kind of savoring every moment,” adds Sadie Sink, who joined the series in Season 2 as Max Mayfield.

“I think this is going to be the best season yet,” says Noah Schnapp as the video progresses to behind-the-scenes footage and a look at the massive sets built for Season 5 of Stranger Things. “The wait will be worth it,” comments Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair). The video concludes with one of the Duffer Brothers further hyping the new season, saying, “This is the season fans have been waiting for.” Check out the video in full below.

What Can Fans Expect From Season 5 of Stranger Things?

In addition to our first big look at Stranger Things Season 5, the stars of the series have been teasing the final season over the course of the past few months, and so have creators Matt and Ross Duffer, who are calling it “Season 1 on steroids.” That tracks with what star Maya Hawke has said of Stranger Things’ swan song – of which we know there will be in eight episodes in total – calling the upcoming season “eight mini-movies.”

Jamie Campbell Bower, who joined the series in Season 4 as the evil Vecna, further hyped Season 5 of Stranger Things last month, when he described it as “out of control.” While the exact whereabouts of Vecna are unknown at this point after his physical form was set on fire by Nancy, Steve, and Robin, it’s obvious from the new preview that he will be returning to finish what he started last season.

“It’s bigger. It’s just completely insane. It’s completely insane. If you thought last season was nuts, this season is just out of control, wild, like, it’s bonkers. It really, really is.”
