Fate has finally dealt with us. Tarot A winning hand with audiences, at least on streaming. The largely disappointing horror film, starring Spider Man alum Jacob Batalon, Currently ranked third on the Netflix After premiering online on Thursday, August 1, directors Anna Hallberg and Spencer Cohen’s attempt to scare theatergoers has yielded mixed results. First, it’s important to note that Tarot He did well financially while acting in movies.
With a budget of only $8 million, Tarot The film grossed $18.8 million domestically (according to Box Office Mojo), but the horror film fared better overseas. Internationally, the Batalon-starring film grossed an additional $30.3 million. Tarot The film was a huge success in both Spain ($2.4 million) and France ($2.2 million) for a worldwide total of $49.1 million. That's more than six times its production budget… a win, no doubt.
Second, it's amazing. Tarot The film was a huge success. Fans and audiences didn’t particularly care for the horror film—and that’s a good thing. Hallberg and Cohen’s film scored a meager 18% on Tomatometer from 57 reviews, and its Rotten Tomatoes audience score currently stands at 59%, as of this writing. The film’s best rating comes from fans who left theaters immediately after seeing the film, giving audiences a good impression. Tarot The film received a “C-” rating from CinemaScore. But even for a horror film, that's a pretty low rating.
Jacob Batalon believes that Tarot is unique.
Tarot The film is doing well at the box office, and audiences seem to be at least curious about Netflix’s latest streaming option for horror movies. Perhaps the film’s viewing figures will soon reflect a better audience response than those initially received on Rotten Tomatoes and CinemaScore. However, as for star Jacob Batalon, Tarot The film has a uniqueness that sets it apart from other horror films. Batalon said in an interview with MovieWeb:
“I thought it was really fun and a completely different take on the horror genre.
We've never seen anything based on tarot before.
I feel like a lot of young people today are interested in zodiac signs and such.
It's very related to that meaning.
“Having a group of college friends and making jokes about it would be great.”
